wedding band engraving question–HELP!

Question:

We just had our initials and the date engraved in ours.  Yes, you may think that is simple, unoriginal, and boring, but we didn’t want anything cheesy.  We are also very simple, practical people, so that is what we felt was best for us.  It didn’t cost very much, and it will eventually rub off anyway.  We’ve been married a year and a half, and the engraving is already showing wear (FYI).  Besides, it is not what is inside your ring that matters — it is the words to say to each other thay unite you in marriage FOREVER and your actions toward one another that make you happy. Actually, I don’t anticipate a problem with remembering my wedding date or initials…so yes, I did want to choose something original.  It’s a shame you’re still using your same unoriginal material, take some notes?
