JFYI, this is a cover; the original was recorded by the writer, Lucinda Williams, someone worth checking out. Absolute Beginners, David Bowie (from the movie of the same name) is a pretty good song for a wedding too. I forget the lyrics, but the basic idea is I don’t have much but I’m totally aware that I love only you absolutely. -steven — "I really liked when she had all those girls over. That was great." – Bill Clinton, describing his daughter Chelsea’s 13th birthday weekend

Leigh- I think that the U2 song is a great idea!!! I personally love the song. My fiance and I have chosen "Not the Only One" by Bonnie Raitt…because it describes our "search for the perfect mate" to a tee, and we finally found it in each other. I am a big fan of U2 – I don’t think that there is anything wrong with "All I want is You" as a first dance song…if it’s what YOU want, you should do it..suitable or not!!! -Dorene <=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=><=> <=> Dorene E. My fiance made a tape of "special songs" for me for Valentine’s Day. It had some traditional type of love songs, but also some a-typical love songs. I don’t know if these are all appropriate to use for a wedding but these are some of my favorite’s from the tape: All I Want Is You, U2 "You say you want diamonds in a ring of gold, your story to remain untold your love not to grow cold. All the promises we make from the cradle to the grave, when All I Want Is You." Trouble Me, 10,000 Maniacs Just The Way You Are, Billy Joel I Will Always Love You, The Cure Passionate Kisses, Mary Chapin Carpenter "Is it too much to ask, I want I full house and a rock n roll band. Food to fill me up, and warm clothes, and all that stuff. Shouldn’t I have this, shouldn’t I have this, shouldn’t I have all of this and Passionate Kisses, oh-oh, Passionate Kisses from you." Look Heart, No Hands, Randy Travis "…No doubts, no fears, just like when you are here. No chains, no strings, no nets, no walls, just you to catch me when I fall. Look Heart, No Hands." This is a mix of our music tastes. Lee (my fiance) is into the alternative rock, I’m the county music fan. Lee always says we never would have met in a music store.
