Dresses and Dates
Question:
We have finally picked a date – May 24, 1997! The wedding will probably be in the morning, but at least not later than 12:00. I just got my engagement ring. It took three months until we got back into the country, found a designer, and settled on a design. But it is a gorgeous marquis diamond in a setting I can wear with a plain, gold wedding band. I even have a dress that my mother and I found by accident as we were shopping for ideas. This is wear the gushing ends and the questions begin. I bought it for about $475 (including tax.) This doesn’t seem to be a bad price, but I’d like to know what everyone else thinks since I am hoping to use the same store for lots of other things – tuxes, bridesmaids dresses, invites, etc. Is $475 a bad price for an Eden dress with a big fluffy skirt (actually, I found the dress on the third or fourth page of the Eden ad in the April/May Brides magazine)? I’m okay with the price. I just want to know if it seems to be in the "reasonable" range so I can better judge whether their other prices are reasonable. Thanks in advance for letting me gush and for giving me advice. I’m starting to feel even more like I’m getting married. Now if only my mother realized it! Emily

Hi I bought an Eden dress also and paid a little more, but not much, it helped that the store had $100 off since I had to pay extra for a larger size. I just had it fitted for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. Sounds like you got a good deal, not great, but good. Much luck with all the planning in the months to come — Deb and Bill 08/31/96 Deb who’s normal and Bill who is ah…um… well… Visit us at http://www.forbin.com/~wboland/
